National Sports Centre Isle of Man

HISTORY AND THE CHALLENGE

Sportsafe has a long history of working with the National Sports centre (NSC) on the Isle of Man and carried out the initial sports facility installation when the centre was first built some years ago.

Colin McMullin, the centre manager, contacted Sportsafe to seek advice on rebound walls that were required within the centre. With its robust structure and ease of mobility, Sportsafe recommended the use of its patent pending ‘Sportsafe mobile rebound units’ as opposed to a fixed static run. This enabled it to be installed with no floor fixings and the ability to be used anywhere in the hall.

THE SOLUTION

Once the team from the Isle of Man saw the benefits of the mobile run they were convinced this was exactly what the centre needed. The order for the mobile run was placed with Sportsafe and was manufactured and shipped to the national Sports centre on schedule. Installation of the mobile run proved to be problem free.

THE OUTCOME

Once the mobile run was installed, the centre’s staff were amazed at how easy it was to install and dismantle, improving on timesavings and safety.

Colin McMullin said, “All the feedback from staff and customers is that the wall is a vast improvement on safety, ease of movement and sturdiness. I would like to thank Sportsafe UK on behalf of the NSC for all of their help on the matter and look forward to a long and safe use of the wall.”
