HISTORY AND THE CHALLENGE
Watford Woodside Leisure Centre is one of the flagship leisure centres for the SLM group and is being run as an ‘everyone active centre’ for use by the general public. It consists of a sports centre and swimming pool and is situated on the outskirts of north London. SLM have operated and managed leisure centres throughout the UK. since 1987
and have a large and expanding portfolio of sites throughout England.
As well as the standard facilities they operate a large trampoline club and contacted Sportsafe at short
notice to provide a quotation to expand their trampolining facility due to an event at the site. Time constraints were
an issue as the site would need to prove an excellence in trampolining at the event they were staging.
THE SOLUTION
Sportsafe provided the quotation on a Tuesday and Watford Woodside placed an order almost immediately for delivery the following Monday.
All trampolines held in stock by Sportsafe need to be part assembled prior to delivery so an internal order was raised to instigate this and the trampoline was dispatched the same week for delivery early on the Monday.
Our service team contacted the site to confirm delivery and the centre asked that Sportsafe provide an engineer at 6.30am to fully assemble and inspect the trampoline prior to its use that day. The service team checked the service diary and managed to alter some diary arrangements and an engineer attended site at the given time to ensure the trampoline was in use prior to the event.
THE OUTCOME
Watford Woodside were delighted to have been able to acquire a competition trampoline at such short notice. They were amazed that Sportsafe could ensure an engineer was on site to make sure the trampoline was ready for use, before the centre opened for its main activities, causing no disruption or cancellation to its daily activities.
The trampoline event on the day was a great success for the facility. Sportsafe demonstrated its commitment to its customers by providing equipment and staff to assist SLM with a short notice installation.
